What is Nemo?
Nemo is a local AI agent that runs on your computer and automates tasks across your desktop, browser, and connected apps — using your existing accounts and sessions. Your data never leaves your device.
How do I install the Nemo Browser Relay extension?
The extension is bundled with the Nemo desktop app — no separate download needed. Once Nemo is installed, open chrome://extensions in Chrome, enable Developer mode, click "Load unpacked", and select the Nemo Browser Relay folder. Nemo will guide you through this on first launch.
Is my data sent to the cloud?
No. Nemo runs entirely on your machine. The Browser Relay extension only communicates with your local Nemo app over 127.0.0.1 — nothing is sent to external servers. Your AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) receives only the task instructions you send, not your browser data.
Which AI models does Nemo support?
Nemo supports all major providers: OpenAI (GPT-4o, o3), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), Mistral, and local models via Ollama. You bring your own API key and choose the model that works best for your tasks.
The extension badge shows "!" — what does that mean?
The "!" badge means the extension cannot reach the local Nemo relay. Make sure the Nemo desktop app is running. If it is, open the extension Options page — it will show the relay status and help you diagnose the issue.
How do I uninstall Nemo?
On Windows, use Add or Remove Programs and uninstall "Nemo". To also remove all local data (credentials, settings, task history), delete the ~/.nemo folder after uninstalling. To remove the browser extension, go to chrome://extensions and remove "Nemo Browser Relay".
